Printing Activities | “Xinzhi” Goes Global – The Amazing Moment of Chip Seals in the Cross-Cultural Exchange Tour of Chinese and American College Students

On July 25, 2024, Yinlian was invited to participate in the 2024 Sino-US College Students Cross-Cultural Exchange Tour held at the Nanjing Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, bringing a colorful cultural feast to American students. In this event, the “Xinzhi” chip seal produced by Yinlian became a highlight, which amazed American students.

During the event, Shao Weiming, current deputy secretary of the Party Group of the Ethnic, Religious, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, spoke highly of the chip seal.

Students from China and the United States watched and experienced the process of making Chinese seals with great interest. When they saw the exquisite seals, as well as the videos and photos of each person’s impressions during their trip to China, their eyes were full of curiosity and surprise.

The American influencer introduced the important status and long history of seals in Chinese culture in fluent Chinese. Chip seals, the fusion of art and technology, carry richer connotations.

American college student Betsy said: “It’s amazing. This is the best and most valuable cultural artifact I have received as a gift in China.” She lamented that a seemingly simple seal condensed the extraordinary wisdom of the Chinese people, and felt that the trip was worthwhile.

Another American student also said: “I like Chinese history very much. A small seal records Chinese history. I think this is a wonderful presentation of Chinese culture. This visit to China made me deeply feel the beauty of the inheritance of history and culture. The chip seal is like a person’s brain that remembers everything. It is amazing!”

In this cross-cultural exchange trip, the “Xinzhi” chip seal has undoubtedly become a bridge between Chinese and American cultures.
