Young Global Leadership Foundation presents Pianist Chen Wang: Journey to Love & Peace
Global CSR Foundation is the co-organizer of the Journey to Love and Peace event on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 7:30pm at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. This will mark Chen Wang’s New York Concert Debut. The concert is sponsored by the Young Global Leadership Foundation with UN NGO ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, together with Michigan State University School of Music, Australian International Culture Industries Association, Global Stress Initiative, Global Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation, Global Wealth Elite Club, International Strategies Alliance & Good News Network, to name a few. The recital will promote awareness, advocacy & action for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) & will launch a recital tour that Wang will perform this year.
Chinese pianist Chen Wang began her piano studies at the age of five & was admitted to the middle school affiliated with Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing at the age of eleven. She continued her studies in the United States with famous pianists & educators including Deborah Moriarty, Panayis Lyras, Stephen Drury & William Heiles at the New England Conservatory, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign & Michigan State University. She holds a DMA in Piano Performance from Michigan State University.
In China, Chen was invited to be a spokesperson & guest pianist in the ninth World’s Children Call for Peace event in Beijing, together with over 100 institutions & children from more than 60 countries. In the US, Chen has given performances for the City of Boston, Omaha Summit at the 53 rd Warren Buffett Berkshire Hathaway Meeting & Massachusetts General Hospital. She received the Global Youth Leadership Award at the United Nations Headquarters Global Social Responsibility Summit in New York in 2018. This year, she gave solo piano performance at World First Metaverse Lantern Festival & North America Virtual Lunar New Year Gala. While working towards a double performance major in piano & percussion in the U.S. on a full scholarship, Chen discovered the interconnection between the two & developed her own performance style. Incorporating East Asian philosophy & western classical music, from Chinese poetry in the Tang Dynasty to Italian Renaissance literature, she explores the connections among nations, people & nature.
Chen Wang is Vice President of the Arts of Young Global Leadership Foundation (United Nations NGO ECOSOC Member), Vice Chairman & Guest Artist of Australian International Culture Industries Association & a member of expert committee of the China Association for Promoting Children’s Culture & Art. Chen is a multi-winner of several international piano competitions. She is a signed artist on Ivory Classics Music & ChinaWise USA.

In order to promote love and peace among mankind to jointly protect and respect our beautiful planet earth, United Nations Young Global Leadership Foundation (YGLF), together with the support of other non-profit international organizations, initiated and proposed “Journey to Love and Peace” piano recital.
Young Global Leadership Foundation (YGLF), a United Nations Non-Governmental Organization with Special Consultative Status under ECOSOC, serves as the host organization for the event. As a member of several key UN bodies, including the Conference on the Non-Governmental Organization (CoNGO), the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Committee, and the NGO Committee on Education, Learning, and Literacy (CELL), YGLF is deeply engaged in global leadership and advocacy. It also adheres to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under Agenda 2030, which focus on advancing People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership. The organization is dedicated to mentoring young adults globally, helping them become ethical and effective leaders who foster peaceful and productive global connections.
Wang Chen is the Vice President of the Arts at YGLF and the Vice Chairman of Australian International Culture Industries in Sydney. She also serves on the Expert Committee of the China Association for Promoting Children’s Culture and Art in Beijing. As a renowned Chinese pianist, Chen has performed in prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, the National Center for Performing Arts in China, Beijing Concert Hall, Harvard University, and various international festivals such as the Asian Music Festival and PASIC. Her performances have taken her across the United States, Asia, and Europe.
Chen’s performances and interviews have been broadcasted on many TV stations, such as China Central TV, Beijing TV, World Peace Ever TV (New York), New York eStar TV, Boston Asian Radio and TV, Florida Chinese TV, Australian ABC Media, China Educationn TV, Jiangsu TV, Hong Kong TV, and Henan TV. In 2019, she was invited to be filmed as a real-life musician in a documentary film, Return to the Red Flag Canal, which received an award at Golden Tree International Film Festival in Paris in 2021. Her life story was narrated in the book BianZhiYaoLan (Woven Cradle), published by China Radio Broadcast and Television Press. Chen has also released her piano solo album Love Journey by Ivory Classics, an American classical music record label.
Chen has been deeply engaged in social and non-profit activities in China. She was invited to serve as the spokesperson and guest pianist at the 9th World’s Children Call for Peace event in Beijing, where she performed alongside over 100 institutions and children from more than 60 countries. As the art director of a fundraising concert for the Sichuan Earthquake victims, she helped raise $220,000. At the 8th National Documentary Awards Ceremony in Beijing, Chen performed as a guest artist and was featured in an interview broadcasted by China Education Television. She was also invited as the first performer at the virtual Global Chinese Musicians’ Relay Concert, hosted by Beijing Television and streamed internationally. For two consecutive years, she received the China Outstanding Contributor of Public Welfare Award in Beijing.
In the U.S., Chen has also been actively involved in social and non-profit activities. For several years, she led an orchestra in Illinois, directing performances for seniors, orphans, special children, individuals with disabilities, as well as university students and local residents. In 2018, she received the Global Youth Leadership Award at the United Nations Headquarters’ Global Social Responsibility Summit in New York. This year, she gave a solo piano performance at the World’s First Metaverse Lantern Festival and the North America Virtual Lunar New Year Gala.

The piano recital will be held at Carnegie Hall in New York City, a renowned cultural center that first opened its doors in 1891. With its exceptional architectural design and rich history, Carnegie Hall has earned its status as a national historic landmark and a symbol of musical excellence. Over the years, it has become synonymous with iconic performances. As Katie J. Watkinson of Condé Nast Traveler once said, “If you perform on one of its famous stages, you join the ranks of popular artists like the Beatles and Judy Garland and composers like Mahler and Tchaikovsky.”
