Youth Travel Series Report 2: China-Hangzhou, Here We Come!

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Supported by the Information Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Jiangsu Provincial Association for the Promotion of Foreign Friendship and Exchanges, the US ICN Television Network and the Global Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation jointly organized the Sino-US College Students Cross-Cultural Exchange Tour, which officially kicked off on July 17. This event combines online and offline with a youthful, networked and fashionable expression method, using the camera to record the development of China in the eyes of American youth. Over the past three days, the members of the tour group visited the West Lake Museum, the West Lake Scenic Area, the China Tea Museum and other places, immersing themselves in the charm of China’s thousand-year-old culture.

The delegation visited Geely Group and Chinese live-streaming e-commerce companies on the 19th to learn about the development of China’s new energy vehicle industry and the world’s leading e-commerce sales. During the visit, Chinese and American students also conducted various forms of interactive exchanges, which greatly enhanced American youth’s understanding and recognition of China’s excellent traditional culture, ecological civilization and China’s scientific and technological development.

These days, students have been shooting and making short videos every day and sharing them on their personal social accounts in the United States and China, telling their relatives and friends what they saw, heard, felt and thought during the field trip. During the seven days in Zhejiang, the field trip group will have hundreds of vlogs broadcast on new media platforms in China and the United States.
