From Davos to Africa: Foundation CEO Visits Botswana to Advance Youth & Women’s Leadership Agenda
Following her participation at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, Jing Zhao Cesarone, Founder and CEO of the Global CSR Foundation (GCSRF), traveled to Botswana at the invitation of Presidential Advisor Dr.Farzam Kamalabadi at the Future Trends Group, marking a significant step in deepening the Foundation’s long-standing engagement with Africa.
For many years, GCSRF has championed initiatives such as “Lighting Up Africa” and African Youth Leadership Development, supporting cross-border partnerships, education advancement, and sustainable growth dialogue.
This visit, however, represented more than strategy or international conversation. It was about walking the land. Feeling the rhythm of the continent. Listening directly to its people. Understanding Africa not as a projection — but as a living force.
Botswana: Stability, Vision, and Structural Clarity Botswana stands out on the African continent for its governance stability, policy clarity, and long-term development vision.
With more than 60% of its population under the age of 35, the country is powered by youth energy. What moved Cesarone most profoundly was witnessing how women’s leadership is being integrated systemically into national development strategy — not as symbolic representation, but as structural design.
“When women’s leadership becomes embedded within national policy, and when youth are positioned at the center of economic and social transformation, that is not merely a policy decision — it is structural upgrading,”Cesarone noted during the visit.
Africa Is Not a Market — It Is a Civilizational Awakening
From the global discussions in Davos on ESG, AI governance, and sustainable development, to the grounded realities of Botswana’s national progress, one conviction became even clearer:
The future will not belong to countries with the most resources.
It will belong to countries with the clearest structures,
the most vibrant talent,
and the courage to bring women and youth fully onto the stage of leadership.
Africa should not be defined merely as an emerging market.
Africa is an awakening civilizational force.
Lighting Up Africa: A Long-Term Commitment
“Lighting Up Africa” is not a slogan for the Global CSR Foundation.
It is a commitment — rooted in long-termism.
GCSRF’s ongoing Africa engagement will focus on:
- Youth leadership acceleration
- Women’s economic empowerment and governance participation
- ESG-aligned investment dialogue
- Education transformation and innovation ecosystems
- Cross-continental partnership between Africa, the Middle East, China, Europe, and the United States
As Africa rises with clarity and confidence, GCSRF stands ready to build partnerships that advance sustainable development and intergenerational leadership.
Africa is shining. And together, we walk with the future.
