Launch of “Endless Vitality: UN Commemorative Stamp and Palace Museum Exhibition” at the UN Headquarters

On May 19, 2025, the “Endless Vitality – The Palace Museum Centennial Stamp Launch and Cultural Creative Exhibition” was officially inaugurated at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Jointly organized by the Palace Museum and the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA), the event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Palace Museum, promotes traditional Chinese culture, and fosters mutual understanding among global civilizations.
At the opening ceremony, the UNPA issued a special commemorative stamp sheet marking the centennial of the Palace Museum — the first time the UN has released such a stamp for a single museum. Featuring a floral theme, the design draws inspiration from iconic patterns found in the Palace Museum’s architecture and collections, blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary craftsmanship to highlight the unique charm of Chinese culture.

Simultaneously, the “Endless Vitality” cultural creative exhibition opened to the public. Inspired by I Ching’s philosophy of interconnectedness and continuity, the exhibition showcases the Palace Museum’s innovative practices in areas such as cultural heritage preservation, environmental sustainability, accessibility and inclusion, and rural revitalization. Through a diverse array of creative products, it reflects the inclusive spirit and sustainable vision of Chinese culture.
The event attracted over 120 guests, including ambassadors from 34 countries and representatives of various UN bodies. Distinguished speakers such as Geng Shuang, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN; Atul Khare, UN Under-Secretary-General; Eliot Minchenberg, Director of UNESCO’s New York Office; and Wang Yuegong, Deputy Director of the Palace Museum, highlighted the vital role of cultural exchange in promoting global peace and development.

Jing Zhao Cesarone, CEO of the Global CSR Foundation, was invited to attend the opening ceremony. She noted that the Palace Museum’s innovative approach to cultural transmission and sustainability is both creative and impactful, offering valuable insights for global corporate social responsibility practices. She looks forward to collaborating with the Palace Museum on the next stop of the exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to jointly promote the global dissemination of Chinese culture and intercultural dialogue.
This exhibition not only demonstrates the profound heritage of Chinese civilization but also builds a new platform for international cultural exchange, showcasing China’s active contribution to the building of a shared future for humanity.
